Several years ago, Dennis Schroder played a season for the Los Angeles Lakers and was an important part of the team’s lineup.
But after that one season, he wasn’t re-signed by the Lakers and moved on.
Now he finds himself in the exact same situation: after a single return year with the Lakers, he is waiting to see if they want to keep him around.
We don’t know if the Lakers will bring Schroder back but he apparently has other teams that would possibly acquire him.
According to the LA Times, via NBACentral, Schroder might reunite with his old coach Billy Donovan on the Chicago Bulls.

Schroder and Donovan worked together years back when they were both signed to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
They had a good working relationship, which would be very important because Donovan is attempting to turn his current team around and would need a familiar and friendly face to help with that.
Schroder’s dogged drive and his offensive skill would assist the Bulls’ backcourt, which has suffered a ton of injuries over the last few years and hasn’t remained consistent because of them.
But it’s still not clear if he will leave the Lakers.
The team just waived Mo Bamba and declined a team option on Malik Beasley, meaning they now have a $12 million exception that they can spend.
The Lakers could use that money to woo a star like Brook Lopez or Bruce Brown.
Or they may split the amount between multiple players, perhaps someone like Schroder and others.
Schroder was given another chance in LA last season and he performed quite well.
But that doesn’t guarantee he will be back.
