The Philadelphia Eagles began their season with a hard-fought victory over the New England Patriots.
This was a defensive battle, as the Eagles’ offense didn’t provide their usual output.
Jalen Hurts was limited to 170 passing yards and 37 rushing yards, as both were statistical anomalies from last year’s MVP candidate.
After this game, Eagles OC Brian Johnson shared a few keys for success moving forward.
Per Johnson via Pro Football Talk, “We have to be really, really mindful of that and get all of our players involved.”
Johnson said that the Eagles need to get Dallas Goedert the ball on offense.

The Eagles are widely viewed as having one of the best offensive groupings in the league.
Led by Hurts, they also have A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert at their disposal.
Johnson spoke highly of Goedert during this press conference, saying, “Dallas obviously is a fantastic player, and we have to do a great job to try to find ways to get him the ball.”
Goedert did not have a catch during their Week 1 victory, something Johnson would like to change.
Smith and Brown each had seven receptions, and Kenneth Gainwell had four catches out of the backfield.
If the Eagles want to go back to their high-flying offense, implementing Goedert could be a great way to get there.
The Eagles are heading home this week to take on the 0-1 Minnesota Vikings in a Thursday Night Football matchup.
With Goedert in line to receive a bigger target share this week, the Eagles offense could capitalize on a Vikings defense that has struggled lately.
