The NFL preseason has taken yet another player.
Philadelphia Eagles special teamer and CB Zech McPhearson reportedly suffered a torn Achilles during their preseason game vs. the Cleveland Browns.
According to Ian Rapoport, the 25-year-old will be sidelined indefinitely, missing the upcoming season at the very least.

Things didn’t look good at all as soon as he fell with the injury, especially considering he had to be carted off the field.
McPhearson entered the league in 2021 and was expected to have an expanded role on defense this season after spending most of his time with special teams.
The fourth-rounder out of Texas Tech had spent time at the nickel and outside corner during training camp, filling in for Avonte Maddox.
He was one of the team’s best kick-coverage tacklers and an integral part of their special teams, and his absence will now leave the door wide open for other backups to emerge and make a name for themselves.
Josiah Scott and Josh Jobe figure to be the likeliest candidates to take his spot on the 53-man roster.
Still, that shouldn’t change the picture for Nick Sirianni’s starters next season, with the CB room featuring the likes of James Bradberry and Darius Slay, and with the aforementioned Maddox and rookie Kelee Ringo also picking up the slack.
The Eagles will once again be one of the biggest powerhouses in the NFC, but injuries are always the worst part of the game, especially with the season just around the corner.
