Following Team USA’s elimination in the FIBA Basketball World Cup, some of the best talents in the NBA are reportedly colluding to commit to play for the Olympics.
The group, which is reportedly led by LeBron James, could feature the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, Draymond Green, Anthony Davis, and Jayson Tatum.
One could think that’s more than enough to get the job done and bring home the gold next summer, but that’s not the case with former star Dwight Howard.
The legendary big man took to Instagram to poke fun at this team, stating that they better not leave him out, or he’s going to have to drop 85 points with Taiwan instead (Via ClutchPoints).
"I like what I see 💪🏾but don't leave ya boy out🤔 …if ya leave me out I'm playing with Taiwan and I’m dropping 85 😅#nba #basketball #legends"

Notably, Howard had his fair share of success with Team USA, winning the gold medal in the 2008 Olympics, the bronze medal in the 2006 FIBA Basketball World Cup, and the gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championship.
He used to be one of the most dominant big men on Earth, and while he’s no longer in his prime, his style of play is definitely perfectly suited for FIBA basketball.
At 37 years old, it’s highly unlikely that Howard will ever get another chance to make it back to the league, let alone play for USA Basketball.
But at least we can always count on him for some hilarious content on social media, especially since he started mocking and trolling those who underperform in the playoffs by inviting them to join him in Taiwan.
