When a team reaches the World Series, it is a guarantee that the next year, the manager of said team will manage their side’s All-Star squad the following summer.
This year, our World Series matchup features the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros, led by Rob Thomson and Dusty Baker.
Regardless of who wins this World Series, both managers will be leading the All-Star squads in 2023.
With Baker and the Astros back in the World Series for the second straight year, it will mark two years in a row that Baker and the Astros’ staff will be in charge of the American League.
For the second year in a row, the Astros coaching staff will guide the AL in the All-Star Game in 2023. It's in Seattle.

Baker Set For Another Honor In 2023
The only thing that would make this sweeter for Baker would be his first World Series ring.
Baker first took the San Francisco Giants to the World Series back in 2002.
That year, San Francisco lost in seven games to the then-Anaheim Angels.
The Astros fell just short a season ago against the Atlanta Braves.
Now, Houston is back in the big dance.
Just four more wins would grant Baker his first ever World Series title.
But even if it doesn’t work out, Baker is still managing in the World Series for the second straight season and will get a chance to lead the American League All-Stars in Seattle next July, while Thomson manages in his first World Series and will guide the National League All-Stars next year.
Game 1 of the World Series will take place on Friday night in Houston and will air on FOX Sports.
The first pitch is scheduled for 8:03 p.m. Eastern Time.
