Drew Brees should have made a seamless transition from quarterback to NFL analyst.
After all, his lengthy career should have made it easy for him to dissect what’s happening in every play.
He also knows what’s going on in the minds of each player because he has been through their situation.
That’s why NBC Sports signed him to do commentary on Football Night in America and Notre Dame games.
He also made appearances on Sunday Night Football with Mike Tirico.
While the network hoped that he would have a lengthy stay, it wasn’t meant to be.
Drew Brees is out at NBC after 1-year.
NBC Sports chairman Pete Bevacqua said that Brees will not be a part of the network’s NFL and Notre Dame coverage this year.

NFL insider Dov Kleiman tweeted, “Drew Brees is out at NBC after 1-year. NBC Sports chairman Pete Bevacqua said that Brees will not be a part of the network’s NFL and Notre Dame coverage this year. Brees was widely criticized for his performance as analyst during his short stint.”
Football fans had more negative things to say about his time in the booth.
NBC thought that he would be a natural for the position, but the contrary happened.
However, he will be back in football, one way or another.
But for now, it would be better for him to take it easy.
Brees Needs A Break
Think about it, he practically jumped from the field to the booth with little transition.
Sometimes, it takes time to learn sportscasting, and not all knowledgeable football people can do the job.
Likewise, he did not have a lengthy time to relax and spend time with his family.
Now that he’s not with NBC anymore, he will have more time with his wife and kids.
He should be settled financially after earning millions of dollars from the NFL.
Making wise investments could even expand his fortune without breaking much sweat.
