Drew Brees‘ NFL future is up in the air.

The 13-time Pro Bowler retired in 2020 after playing 20 seasons in the league.

His last game was a defeat at home to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round.

After his retirement, NBC Sports hired him to be a color analyst for the Notre Dame football games.

He was also a part of “Football Night in America” with Mike Tirico.

But despite a promising sports broadcasting career, Brees is leaving the booth and his next destination is uncertain.

Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided. I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know

Brees tweeted, “Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided. I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know.”

He did let everyone know about his retirement before.

Therefore, he will have an official announcement regarding the next phase of his career.

Given that he’s undecided, it’s also the perfect opportunity to spend more time with his family.

He barely had a break transitioning from the field to the broadcast studio.

He can take his time pondering about his next decision while seeing his kids grow.

No one is rushing him because he has earned to decide in his time.

Will Brees Play Again?

The 43-year-old quarterback did not rule out the possibility of donning pads and a helmet again.

After all, Brady is still doing it at 44 years old.

However, his last games with the New Orleans Saints were disappointing.

His zip on the ball was gone and he couldn’t throw as far as needed.

He would have to work on his shoulder to get comfortable with throwing the football again.

Still, it would be better for him to contribute to the game in another capacity except playing.
