Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors isn’t usually known as the coolest head on the court.
But the controversial and outspoken star of the reigning championship team wants people within the NBA to get along.
Speaking with NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Green talked about the constant tension between players and referees.
“They need to stop looking at it as us versus them,” Green said of the refs.
“We all work together to put a great product out for the fans of this game,” Green added.

Green seemed honest and genuine about his plea for the refs and athletes to see eye-to-eye, despite the fact that he has often butted heads with officials in the game.
His statement comes in the midst of a tough season for NBA referees.
There have been numerous controversial calls by the refs so far this season and a lot of nasty headlines and angry tweets and post-game press conferences have revolved around them.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver recently talked about bad calls by the refs, saying the league handles them behind closed doors.
Ironically, Green’s comments about peace within the league come just hours after Toronto Raptors star Fred VanVleet earned what will be a huge fine for speaking angrily about the refs.
VanVleet’s very NSFW press conference highlights that players are very frustrated with the work of the league’s officials.
As for the referees, they are challenged by pressure from fans, players, coaches, and the Association’s top brass.
Green is right: the situation would be easier for all involved if cooler heads prevailed and the focus was on both sides making basketball the best it can be.
