Things got downright painful between Jae Crowder of the Phoenix Suns and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night.
The Suns forward kicked Doncic directly in the groin in the first half of Phoenix’s 121-114 Game 1 victory.
It was painful to see – and definitely painful for Doncic.
But it garnered some even more heated reactions due to a very controversial flagrant foul from this weekend.

As everyone knows, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors received a flagrant two and was ejected from Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday when he pulled on the jersey of Brandon Clarke.
Yet, Crowder’s kick to the Doncic didn’t get the same penalty.
NBA writer Marc Spears commented on the disparity, saying that Green must have been fuming after seeing it.
Sure enough, Green hopped on Twitter with a very pithy, humorous response to Crowder’s kick.

That’s typical Green, full of personality and unabashed opinion.
He’s not the only one side-eying the NBA refs right now.
The Flagrant Heard ‘Round The World
People are still talking about Green’s flagrant foul even though the Warriors ended up winning their game against the Grizzlies.
Most people agree that the refs were a bit dramatic with the call and that was probably just a flagrant one.
Flagrant fouls are hard to classify and, of course, they are open to the interpretation of the officials on the floor.
No matter what they decide, fans on one side will be upset with the call.
It might not have been the right choice but it’s time to move on from Green’s foul and focus on Game 2.
There is surely a lot more excitement – and controversy – on the way.
