The Golden State Warriors have been two entirely different teams this season.
They’ve been a wrecking ball at the Chase Center and a bottom-two team on the road, a split that’s quite hard to explain.
According to Draymond Green, it all comes down to their mindset.
The Dubs have failed to gain some momentum before hitting the road and have struggled mentally against lesser teams.
Nonetheless, Green believes the team is finally starting to find its groove, and it’s just a matter of time before they turn things around:
“Our season’s a little weird, as you know,” Green said on his podcast. “Best record in the league at home, at 17-2; it’s incredible. Worst record in the league on the road, at 3-16, which is awful. Number 1, it’s definitely a mental thing,” Green added. “Most importantly, this team has started to find its identity. And for me, that’s more important than what the home record says right now or what the road record says right now. Over the last five games, I think this team has truly started to build an identity, and every great team has an identity.”

It’s also worth noting that the second unit has stepped up big time after struggling mightily to start the season.
Also, their home-road split could be explained by Klay Thompson sitting most back-to-backs.
But if this team continues to gain confidence and Steph Curry comes back at the same level he was before suffering that shoulder injury, then the rest of the league better worry.
