The Atlanta Falcons’ head into their week eight matchup shockingly in first place in the NFC South.
While fans thought the Falcons were heading for a hopeless season, their team has given fans some shocking wins.
However, one rookie player is standing out on the Falcons roster.
That player is wide receiver Drake London, and he’s paying dividends this season.
So what is their rookie receiver doing in Atlanta that’s so special for them?
London Is Highest Graded Rookie Receiver So Far In 2022
With Calvin Ridley suspended for the season, London is taking over as the team’s top receiver.
His 315 receiving yards and two touchdowns has PFF ranking him above all other rookie receivers this season.
Drake London is PFF’s highest graded rookie WR through 7 weeks.

Those numbers also make him the top receiver for receiving yards with his team, while tied for first in receiving TDs in Atlanta.
However, his numbers could improve if the team had a better passing game.
With Marcus Mariota leading the team as QB, they don’t have an elite quarterback.
While he’s doing enough for London to stand out, a more accurate QB could help London’s numbers explode.
Mariota Needs Some Improvements To Help London Shine Even More
While the rookie receiver is leading most of the receiving stats in Atlanta, he can lead them all with better play from Mariota.
Currently, London has 26 receptions on 44 targets this season.
This means Mariota needs consistency with his accuracy.
He’s shown before he can be accurate with the ball.
If he can be more consistent, those targeted passes to London will turn into completions.
