Anyone who thought that Donovan Mitchell wouldn’t fit in well with the Cleveland Cavaliers is probably feeling pretty embarrassed right now.
The man has fit like a hand in a glove and has gotten off to a great start in Cleveland.
Partly because of Mitchell’s great work, the team has a 5-1 record right now and sits at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The season is long and they need to win many, many more games before they can be certified truly terrific but there is no doubt that Mitchell is a huge asset to the team and the trade for him was a smart one.
This season with the Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell is averaging 32.2 PPG.
That's the 2nd-highest in NBA history in a player's first 6 games with a team.
The only higher average is Wilt Chamberlain's 36.8 PPG in 1959 with the Warriors. Those were the first 6 games of his career. pic.twitter.com/ECdgJjUA0P

So far, Mitchell is averaging 32.2 points per game with his Cavaliers.
That is the second-highest in NBA history for a player’s first six games with a team.
Impressively, the only other higher average is Wilt Chamberlain‘s 36.8 points per game all the way back in 1959 during his rookie year.
The Cavaliers are a deep team with many stars but they are quickly becoming Mitchell’s squad.
No Doubts About Donovan
The Cavaliers are undoubtedly a great team and they are showing they really might have what it takes to last throughout the whole season.
And that’s not just because of Mitchell.
The thing that’s so great about Mitchell is that he has seamlessly fit into a lineup of other bonafide stars, like Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, and others.
These were the guys that brought the team so much attention over the last few years.
Mitchell has just rocketed things up out of the atmosphere for the Cavs.
The addition of Mitchell has made the team better for a number of reasons.
