Finally, players around the league are getting tired of Dillon Brooks and his antics, and that’s terrible news for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Brooks has rapidly become one of the most unlikable figures in the league, talking without backing it up on the court and constantly taking cheap shots at other players.
So, when he tried to grab Donovan Mitchell’s ankles after a hard foul from Evan Mobley, the Louisville product said, ‘enough is enough’ and took him down to the ground.
The scuffle led to both players getting ejected, and Mitchell didn’t mince his words in the press conference:
“That’s just who he is,” Mitchell said, per ESPN. “We’ve seen it a bunch in this league with him. Him and I have had our personal battles for years. There’s no place for that in the game. This has been brewing for years with me and other guys in the league. You all see it. This isn’t new.”

Per the Cleveland Cavaliers star, it’s time the NBA finally does something about Brooks, whose constant antics and dirty plays are starting to become a league-wide concern.
There’s a line between being a competitive trash-talker and a dirty player, and Brooks has been on the wrong end of way too many altercations already.
He’s the fourth-best player on a team that’s been doing a lot of yapping despite not getting past the second round of the playoffs, and players are starting to take receipts.
Of course, he got what he wanted because Mitchell was still out of the game after the scuffle, but it could only be a matter of time before things really escalate and get out of hand with him.
The Grizzlies have plenty of talent and are a fun team to watch, but there’s no place in the league for that kind of player.
That’s not basketball.
