The Miami Dolphins have a roster that could legitimately compete in 2022.
Aside from hiring a new head coach in Mike McDaniel, they have acquired talents like offensive linemen Terron Armstead and Connor Williams.
Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Cedrick Wilson, and Tyreek Hill are also included in their haul.
Combining them with holdovers like Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki should create a high-powered offense.
However, as shared by the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Chris Perkins, another player is getting much attention from other NFL teams
Dolphins GM Chris Grier said they got calls on QB Skylar Thompson, the rookie 7th-rd pick. Said people told them they'd be stupid to let him go. Mike McDaniel: "We're not in the business of being stupid."

Perkins tweeted, “Dolphins GM Chris Grier said they got calls on QB Skylar Thompson, the rookie 7th-rd pick. Said people told them they’d be stupid to let him go. Mike McDaniel: ‘We’re not in the business of being stupid.'”
The Dolphins may have unearthed an unheralded talent in Thompson.
In their preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he finished with 20 completions for 218 yards and a touchdown.
He followed that up with nine passes for 129 yards and a touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Thompson closed the preseason with seven completions for 103 yards and three touchdowns in a dominating win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Those performances made him the talk of the town, but Miami won’t let him go.
If Tua Tagovailoa struggles, Thompson might be the guy who could take over.
Thompson’s Journey To The NFL
His football career at Kansas State was like a roller-coaster ride.
In 2020, he had a season-ending upper-body injury that required immediate surgery.
He also saw limited action in 2021 due to another injury.
Despite those setbacks, he is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in Kansas State history, finishing with 7,134 yards, 44 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions.
It was predicted that he will become an undrafted free agent due to his injury history.
However, the Dolphins took a chance on him with the 247th overall selection in the 2022 draft.
