Today, the Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed the newest member of their broadcast team in current MLB Network analyst Stephen Nelson.
Nelson currently serves as a talk show along with Kevin Millar for MLB Network’s “Intentional Talk.”
But today, he announced that he will be joining the broadcast team for SportsNet LA, the TV home of the Dodgers.
Nelson recorded a video of himself, thanking the Dodgers for the opportunity and also expressing excitement to be closer to home in Southern California.
On Twitter, the Dodgers posted Nelson’s video while also extending a warm welcome to the newest member of their broadcast team.

Nelson kept his message brief, but made sure to thank the Dodgers for a new opportunity.
He also made sure to let fans know that Joe Davis, the team’s regular play-by-play announcer and lead FOX Sports announcer for the World Series, would not be going anywhere.
Nelson stated that he will only be filling in for Davis on occasion and that his job was simple, to keep his seat warm and to keep field reporter Dave Vassegh away from any slides, referencing a comical, yet unfortunate incident at American Family Field in Milwaukee when Vassegh fractured his wrist going down the famous slide.
That might be the most important thing for Nelson to keep track of.
Finally, the newest addition to the Dodgers family expressed his gratitude for the organization and acknowledged the line of legendary broadcasters who came before him, such as Red Barber and Vin Scully.
