The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the most stable organizations in MLB.
They are not afraid to spend whenever they need it, but they are the gold standard for player development: they often sign players on the cheap and, through training, time, and determination, they end up being stars.
The same happens with their prospects, draft picks, and even existing players on the roster: the Dodgers can produce their own stars, but they can also buy them.
It’s a perfect setup for sustainability and success.
A big part of that project is Dave Roberts.
The manager has been leading the franchise to the playoffs year in and year out, and he finally delivered a championship in 2020.
There is mutual interest in a contract extension that keeps Roberts in Los Angeles for a very long time.
However, nobody is rushing into anything: the sides want to do it right.
The Dodgers Would Love To Retain Roberts
The skipper talked to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya about his future on Friday.
“Dave Roberts said things are ‘really close’ with his contract extension with the Dodgers. ‘I don’t think it’s going to be an issue in the coming days,’ he said,” was Ardaya’s tweet regarding the contract status of the accomplished manager.

It’s clear that the Dodgers’ front office wants to keep building a sustainable winner with Roberts at the helm.
He has delivered nothing but winning seasons ever since he took over the managerial position full-time in 2016.
His record as a manager is 542-329, with an incredible .622 winning percentage.
He has gone to three World Series and won one.
He may not have a flawless record of in-game decisions, but who does?
Roberts is the right man to lead the Dodgers for the foreseeable future, and it appears the parts will make it official soon.
