When you’re in Milwaukee, one of the things you may want to try is going down the slide, otherwise known as “Bernie’s Chalet” at American Family Field.
That’s what Los Angeles Dodgers field reporter David Vassegh did yesterday.
Prior to the third game of the Dodgers’ four-game set with the Milwaukee Brewers, Vassegh decided to go down the slide that Bernie Brewer goes down every time the Brewers hit a home run.
Needless to say, it did not go well for Vassegh.
When Vassegh got to the bottom of the slide, he fractured his wrist when he ran into the wall.
Later that night on the broadcast, Vassegh appeared to tell the story, comparing the moment to something out of the famous segment “Shaqtin’ a Fool and admitting to being the fool.

A Ridiculous Injury
Hopefully the Dodgers broadcast team has insurance to pay for Vassegh’s injury.
You can’t blame him for wanting to try the slide out.
It appears that it just wasn’t meant for him.
While we don’t want to laugh at other people’s pain, Vassegh appeared to be totally cool with it, standing before the camera with his fractured wrist and admitting to being the fool in this instance.
But at least he does his own stunts, and he does them “Tom Cruise style” as he alluded to when he stood before the camera to show off his fractured wrist.
The good thing is, he’s willing to laugh at himself about the whole incident, but similarly to Fernando Tatis Jr.’s motorcycle riding days, Vassegh’s days of going down the slide in Milwaukee appear to be a thing of the past.
At least he tried.
