With the World Baseball Classic fast approaching, most of the focus has been on the American, Dominican, and Japanese National Teams this winter.
However, there hasn’t been much focus on the British National Team.
Most of MLB’s biggest stars will be playing for other countries.
But we do know of at least one player who will be suiting up for Great Britain.
Trayce Thompson, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the brother of Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson, will be joining the British National Team.
He’ll join a team that already has a few players with some prior Major League experience.
This will be fun: I’m hearing that Trayce Thompson will be playing for Team Great Britain in the WBC. 🇬🇧

Among Thompson’s teammates with be pitchers Chris Reed, Akeel Morris, Michael Roth, and Vance Worley.
He’ll also be joined by a few top prospects.
St. Louis Cardinals outfield prospect Matt Koperniak, Seattle Mariners top prospect Harry Ford, and Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Tahnaj Thomas will also be a part of the team.
Koperniak and Reed are both natives of the United Kingdom and will be representing their home country.
The WBC was last played back in 2017, with Team USA coming out on top as the champions.
The tournament is usually played every four years, but due to COVID-19, it was pushed back to this year.
At long last, the WBC will make its triumphant return and players from all around the globe will come together and compete for their respective countries to see who truly has the best roster.
And Thompson will have a chance to compete with the best from Team Great Britain.
