Last Friday, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw had to be placed on the 15-day injured list with right SI joint inflammation.
The sacroiliac (SI) joint is in the pelvis area.
At the time, we didn’t know how long Kershaw would be out of action.
On Tuesday afternoon, we still don’t quite know for sure, but at least we have some news.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said it’s “unlikely” the left-hander and future Hall of Famer throws a bullpen tomorrow.
He says it is still a possibility, but since he’s still experiencing some discomfort after an epidural, that scenario is not particularly likely.
The pitcher is still throwing, so that’s a positive.
“Clayton Kershaw is still throwing and isn’t shut down. ‘I think we’re all disappointed about it, but we got to deal with where he’s at,’” Dave Roberts said,” The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya tweeted.

Will It Be A Matter Of Pain Tolerance For Kershaw?
Kershaw told reporters over the weekend that he underwent an MRI in the area that showed no structural damage.
This has the look of being a pain-management situation that Kershaw will be dealing with for a long time, unless there is an extended absence.
It’s possible he can pitch through it, though.
In any case, the silver lining is that the ailment is not related to the arm issues that sidelined him for most of the 2021 campaign.
Kershaw was enjoying an excellent start of the 2022 season, with a 1.80 ERA and a 0.73 WHIP in 30 innings.
He has a 4-0 record.
He had struck out 32 hitters, too.
It’s too bad he will be out of action for another while.
The whole league misses him, especially fans.
