If you have been watching baseball for a while, you probably know how good Trea Turner of the Los Angeles Dodgers is.
From his Washington Nationals days, he has been captivating fans with his game-changing speed and surprising power.
But he may not be a household name for someone who is not fully familiarized with the league.
In any case, he has shown time and time again he is an elite player.
During the early years of his career, he was capable of stealing over 40 bases per season, but used to max out between 10 and 20 home runs.
He was more of a base stealer than a run-producer.
But as he evolves and understands his elite speed won’t last forever, he has been morphing into quite the power hitter and run-producer in the last couple of seasons.
Last year, he hit 28 home runs between the Nationals and the Dodgers, a career-high.
This year, he has seven before Thursday’s game, but the most impressive part of his stat line are actually his RBI.
“Trea Turner casually has 45 RBI through 55.5 games,” David Rosenthal, who follows and covers the Dodgers, wrote via Twitter today.

Turner Has Become A Power Threat Capable Of Producing Lots Of Runs
He also has 28 runs, so the split has been somewhat reversed in comparison to the rest of his career.
A lot of that has to do with his position in the Dodgers’ lineup: he has been hitting third, a prime spot for RBI.
But it goes to show that there is some thump in his bat.
Turner is hitting .303/.357/.482 so far in 2022, and this season could be the first of his successful MLB tenure in which he surpassed 100 RBI.
He will, most certainly, eclipse his career-high in RBI, which is the 77 he had last year.
Will he have a shot at driving in 100 runs this year?
In the Dodgers’ potent lineup, anything can happen.
