For days, everybody has been awaiting an update regarding Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
After he collapsed during Monday’s game between the Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, he has been in critical condition and fans, players, and coaches from everywhere have shown their support.
Hamlin’s uncle gave an encouraging update a couple of days ago, but on Thursday morning came the best and most concrete update yet.
Dr. Timothy Pritts of UC Health gave a lengthy update on Hamlin’s health status:
Dr. Timothy Pritts of UC Health, on Damar Hamlin: "He's made substantial improvement. It appears his neurological condition and function is intact. We are very proud to report that. … This marks a really good turning point in his ongoing care."

Hamlin has been communicating with the doctors via writing for the time being since he still has a breathing tube, and one of his first questions was about who won the game.

Dr. Pritts gave the perfect answer: Hamlin won “because he won the game of life.”
It has been a remarkable turnaround for Hamlin, and things are definitely trending in the right direction regarding his health.
Week 18 is getting close, and the Bills-Bengals game has yet to be rescheduled, and it’s hard to imagine the players from either team being ready to play a game when Sunday rolls around.
Hamlin’s foundation has continued to receive a ton of support, and this is by far the best update we have received him.
Let’s all keep Damar Hamlin in our prayers and wishes and hope he can recover soon.
