The Arizona Diamondbacks aren’t really in the playoff picture, but there are several reasons to believe that 2022 has been a highly successful season.
We will get to their on-field performance in a minute: first, let’s acknowledge that they are doing everything they can to get people in the seats in Chase Field.
Their most recent initiative to achieve that is actually very cool: it involves a jersey giveaway for the first 10,000 people in attendance on September 17, in a game against the San Diego Padres.
“Some of the best threads in the MLB can be yours next homestand!,” the D-Backs tweeted with a picture of a cool black jersey with the word “Serpientes”.

That word means “snakes” and is a cool way to connect with the Spanish-speaking community in Arizona.
The replica jersey itself looks neat, and it’s a good way to bring some people to Chase Field to watch the young kids develop into the contributors and stars of tomorrow.
An Up-And-Coming Team
The D-Backs are 65-71, a vast improvement from their 52-110 season last year.
It means that they are getting better.
Young studs like Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas, Daulton Varsho, and Jake McCarthy are already helping the team get some wins, and there is more talent on the way.
Oh, and Zac Gallen has blossomed into a legit ace, with a 2.42 ERA for the year and an ongoing 41.1 inning scoreless streak.
There are several reasons to go see the D-Backs at the stadium.
They are paving the way to compete next year or in 2024, if they play their cards right.
It seems hard to believe after how bad they were in 2021, but baseball is full of surprises and unexpected developments.
