Devin Booker Roasted Luka Doncic After A Fall

It’s been a pretty physical series between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks.

Both of these teams have been known for their aggressiveness and fearlessness about going toe-to-toe against opponents and putting their bodies on the lines.

Sure enough, there have been a lot of fouls and spills on the floor.

And there has been a little bit of smack-talking too.

“The Luka special.”

On Tuesday night, Devin Booker was poking fun at the biggest star of the Mavericks.

After taking a fall under the backboard, Booker remained on the floor gathering himself for an extended amount of time.

Before getting helped up by his teammates, Booker told the crowd that his time dramatically laying down was “the Luka special.”

That’s a comment on how Doncic is known for getting knocked down and remaining on his back for a moment or two.

Was this a funny joke or an unwarranted jab from Booker?

Doing Damage To Doncic

Doncic has been getting roughed up a lot this series.

During the first few games against the Suns, it looked like Doncic was on his back every few seconds.

The Suns’ defense was intense against Doncic and was ultra-aggressive too.

This led to quite a few instances of Doncic being knocked down or shoved or swiped onto the court during a play.

With all of those knocks against him, you can’t blame Doncic for spending a few extra seconds composing himself before getting back on his feet.

This game isn’t easy on the body of players so there is no shame if they need some time to rise after a fall.

Booker is laughing about Doncic now but he won’t be so amused if the Mavericks score another win in Game 6.
