When Dennis Schroder was signed to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer, followers of the team were hopeful he would perform as he did during the EuroBasket tournament a few months ago.
Of course, bad luck then struck and an injury kept him on the sidelines as LA began their troubled, disappointing season.
Schroder healed and was ready to play a few weeks ago.
But he didn’t return to the court in a huge way, scoring just 2 points in his first game.
He scored 13 in the next but that was followed by a performance with 0 points and another with just 9.

But Schroder had a very good showing over the weekend, putting up 21 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds in a win against the San Antonio Spurs.
The German star was hot for 60% from the field and nailed 3 of his 4 three-point attempts.
Is he heating up and getting started?
Is Schroder finally, really back for the Lakers?
Schroder Surging
Because of his ho-hum start, Schroder’s current 2022-23 average is 9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists.
That’s a bit lower than his career average of 14.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.
The Lakers are hoping that Schroder only improves from his game over the weekend and continues to post a lot of points in the weeks ahead.
He can be a great point guard and a wonderful shooter, with a career average of 43.5% from the field.
The Lakers need all the help they can get in practically every way but one of their biggest problems this season has been shot selection.
Schroder can help with that if he stays in fine form and continues to work on his game.
Was Saturday just the beginning of his big comeback?
