The Chicago Bulls don’t look like the same team that came out swinging for the fences last season.
At this point last year, the Bulls were being spoken of as possible Finals contenders.
But a slew of injuries and tough competition eventually wore the Bulls down and they ended up making the postseason but not much of an impact.
This season, things have gotten off to a much rougher start.
The team is 12th in the East with a 9-11 record.

But their star player, DeMar DeRozan, is still playing sensational basketball.
NBA writer Ben Stinar looked at DeRozan’s numbers and commented on his “epic levels of underrated.”
Over the last 6 games, DeRozan has put up 28, 41, 28, 36, 30, and 26 points.
Despite that, the Bulls are still in bad shape and will be lucky to make the play-in tournament at this rate.
Stinar suggested that someone “swoop in and trade for him.”
But is that really possible?
Battered & Bruised Bulls
A lot will have to change if the Bulls hope to make the play-in or playoffs.
The team’s offense has fallen off, which might be improved when Lonzo Ball finally comes back.
Injuries are again a serious issue too, with multiple stars sitting out or playing at limited capacity.
But one thing that isn’t a problem for the Bulls is DeRozan, who is still posting MVP numbers.
However, some are starting to wonder how much longer DeRozan will stick around with the Bulls if they keep having problems.
Sure, he’s only been there for a bit more than one season but DeRozan is intent on winning big and he may not stay committed to the team if they can’t get it together.
No one, even someone as loyal as DeRozan, wants to stick around and waste the best years of their career for a team that can’t compete.
