The San Antonio Spurs were counted out for most of the season but have recently gotten it together and are now in contention for the playoffs.
San Antonio is the tenth team in the West, just ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers, and are currently primed to play in the play-in tournament.
But they might have to play without one of their stars, Dejounte Murray, because he sounds incredibly sick.
I Randomly Got Sick And It Sucks It Happen At This Crucial Time While Me And The Team Are Rolling. I Lost 7-8 Pounds And Been Feeling Awful And Doing Everything To Get Healthy First Then Working Out To Get Ready To Help The Team Get In This Play In And Fight For The Playoffs. 🙏🏽

Murray missed Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers and he took to Twitter to reveal why.
“I Randomly Got Sick And It Sucks It Happen At This Crucial Time While Me And The Team Are Rolling. I Lost 7-8 Pounds And Been Feeling Awful And Doing Everything To Get Healthy First Then Working Out To Get Ready To Help The Team Get In This Play In And Fight For The Playoffs,” Murray said online.
The illness Murray sounds quite serious and now fans are terrified that it might derail all the progress the Spurs have made.
Murray’s Season
Murray has been pivotal for the Spurs this year.
He has averaged 21.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 9.3 assists a game.
Unsurprisingly, he leads the team in points and assists.
The timing of this sickness couldn’t be any worse.
Right now, they are two games ahead of the 11th-seeded Los Angels Lakers but they have a rough road ahead.
They will face off against the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, and Dallas Mavericks before the postseason starts.
Can the team win without Murray on their side?
Yes, they can – they won on Sunday night without him (true, it was against the Trail Blazers but a win is a win).
However, the lack of Murray will have fans nervous for every game moving forward.
Hopefully, he is able to get better as soon as possible.
