Many people wondered how Davis Bertans would fit with the Dallas Mavericks after he was traded to the team from the Washington Wizards last week.
Bertans isn’t the biggest name in the NBA and, quite frankly, he was having trouble making an impact in Washington – would it be any different in Dallas?
He has only played one game for his new team but he’s already showing some promise.
Davis Bertans has more points in his first three quarters with the Mavs than he did in his last month with the Wizards.

In a win against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, Bertans scored more points in his first three quarters than he did in his last month with the Wizards.
At the end of the game, Bertans put up 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Has Bertans finally found his home?
From Struggle To Success
Things weren’t going well for Bertans in Washington, where he struggled to get minutes and points.
He rarely got more than 12 minutes on the floor and didn’t score more than single digits since January 3.
In his opening game with the Mavericks, Bertans immediately got off to a hot start.
His first bucket of the night was a three-pointer that made quite the statement.
Overall, he seems to fit in quite well with the team’s rotation and plays perfectly alongside them.
He is tailor-made for the fast break style that Dallas aims for and his ability to quickly set up deep twos or threes is exactly what the Mavericks want.
True, it’s only been one game so much remains to be seen about Bertans.
However, this first game was very promising and suggested that maybe he will be a pivotal and special part of the squad.
The Mavericks are hoping to have their best postseason in years – will he be a big part of that?
