The Milwaukee Brewers have a hole to fill after president of baseball operations David Stearns stepped down from his role.
Matt Arnold, the team’s general manager, will be promoted to the position previously held by Stearns.
But there is a team that appears to be a potential fit for him in the near future.
Stearns is a native of New York and has been connected to the New York Mets in recent years.
SNY, the TV home of the Mets, posted a tweet revealing the news of his departure from Milwaukee, reminding Mets fans that he has been linked to the team before.

Mets Linked To Stearns
Perhaps the Mets could be Stearns’ next destination.
Billy Eppler is currently the general manager of the team.
Perhaps Stearns could be brought on board as the president of baseball operations soon, or Stearns could take the general manager role while the Mets promote Eppler to the president of baseball operations position.
New York’s season finished in disappointment as they lost the NL Wild Card Series to the San Diego Padres.
They won 101 games during the regular season and ultimately fell just short of their first division title since 2015.
But adding a great baseball mind like Stearns to the front office could help the Mets in the future.
Stearns is no stranger to winning and has been very successful with the Brewers.
As a New York native, the door could be open for him to ultimately grab a role with the Mets.
