Hall of Fame weekend has come and gone.
Former Boston Red Sox great David Ortiz has officially been enshrined in Cooperstown.
Ortiz has three World Series rings, seven Silver Slugger Awards, an ALCS MVP Award, a World Series MVP Award, and 10 All-Star selections to his name and yesterday, the baseball world got a chance to celebrate one of the greatest players who has ever played the game.
But when Ortiz gave his acceptance speech, he wanted to make sure he took time to thank all of the teammates he had played with over the years, most notably, his Red Sox teammates.
The Red Sox posted a tweet with Ortiz’s quote from yesterday’s speech.

Papi Thanks His Teammates
Ortiz has always been all class, and this is a nice way for him to thank all of his teammates.
He played with so many great players over the course of his career, players who shaped him, supported him, and helped make him into a better player.
From Pedro Martinez, Manny Ramirez, and Curt Schilling to Mike Lowell, Jon Lester, and Dustin Pedroia, Ortiz certainly shared a clubhouse with some fantastic ballplayers and great friends.
It’s nice to see him give his thanks to each and every one of his teammates that helped make him a better player over his storied career.
They were just as important to his success as his own dedication and preparation were.
He always wanted to compete and win, but he had a ton of teammates by his side who wanted the exact same thing and always listened to him when he had something to say.
Ortiz will go down in history as one of the best players to not only wear the Red Sox jersey but play the game of baseball as a whole.
