Dave Roberts Rightfully Sticking By His Bold Claim

A few days ago, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts claimed that his team would win the World Series.

The phrase made some noise in the baseball world, not because it was bold or improbable, but because it shows how the Dodgers organization works: they are confident, they believe in their system, and they like their chances.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Asked if he is having second thoughts about his prediction, Roberts showed he is standing by it.

“Dave Roberts doesn’t regret predicting the #Dodgers would win the World Series this season. ‘Shouldn’t that be my take?’,” Matthew Moreno, the managing editor of Dodger Blue, tweeted.

The Dodgers Remain A Powerhouse

The Dodgers won 106 games last year, the second-best mark in baseball after the San Francisco Giants.

They reached the National League Championship Series, but weren’t able to eliminate the Atlanta Braves for a second straight year.

In 2022, they will try to re-take the World Series trophy after winning it in 2020.

They lost Max Scherzer, Corey Seager, and Kenley Jansen, and those absences will surely hurt.

However, they traded for stellar reliever Craig Kimbrel and they signed proven slugger Freddie Freeman, so they remain perhaps the most talented roster in baseball.

Their offensive firepower is obvious: Will Smith, Gavin Lux, Trea Turner, Justin Turner, Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, and even the struggling Cody Bellinger (who had a fantastic playoff showing in 2021) are ready to make another run at the Fall Classic and prove Roberts right.

We don’t know if the Dodgers will win it all or not, but it’s clear that they are the most likely team to make a World Series appearance in 2022.
