Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams is having quite an offseason.
He was traded by the Green Bay Packers to reunite with his college teammate, quarterback Derek Carr.
He also got paid via a five-year, $141.25 million contract that made him the highest-paid wideout at signing.
Likewise, he also wore the Raiders uniform for the first time, much to Carr’s approval.
Adams was also welcomed to the Madden NFL 99 club by Hall of Famer and the G.O.A.T Jerry Rice.
It’s that ranking that makes him the best wideout in the league, as shared by Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov.
Top 10 WRs in Madden NFL 23:
Davante Adams: 99
Cooper Kupp: 98
Tyreek Hill: 97
DeAndre Hopkins: 96
Stefon Diggs: 95
Justin Jefferson: 93
Mike Evans: 92
Terry McLaurin: 91
Keenan Allen: 91
Amari Cooper: 90— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) July 18, 2022
Meirov tweeted that Adams is the only wideout with a 99 ranking in the video game.
Reigning Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp is a point lower at 98 while Tyreek Hill is at 97.
Completing the top five are DeAndre Hopkins and Stefon Diggs.
Justin Jefferson, Mike Evans, Terry McLaurin, Keenan Allen, and Amari Cooper round up the top ten.
Even if Kupp won last season’s triple crown for wide receivers, Adams got the top rating because of his 123 receptions, 1,553 yards, and 11 touchdowns.
Electronic Arts, the company behind Madden NFL, is also expecting an uptick in his production because he will be playing under Josh McDaniels’ offense.
How Adams Fits The Raiders’ System
He is like the home-run hitter of the receiving corps because he is expected to complete plays further down the field.
The amount of attention he commands should help Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller get favorable matchups as well.
Therefore, the 99 rating is not just possibly based on individual skills.
Perhaps they also bumped up some categories due to his impact on other players on the field.
If everything goes well, the Raiders offense could spell trouble for the teams on their 2022 schedule.
