It has been close to three months since All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams joined the Las Vegas Raiders.

However, the thought of his transfer remains shocking.

It looked like he was having a great time with the Green Bay Packers as Aaron Rodgers‘ primary target.

Their partnership made him a two-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler.

Adams also had three 1,000-yard seasons with the Packers, including last season wherein he had a career-high 1,553 yards.

No one knew Adams’ reasons for leaving Green Bay, until now.

NFL Network’s James Palmer shared a lengthy statement that details Adams’ willingness to leave Green Bay and his discussions with the reigning league MVP.

Adams said that Rodgers was aware of his position and had talked about the quarterback’s tenure in Green Bay.

Rodgers’ inevitable retirement led the former Fresno State standout to join the Raiders via trade.

Las Vegas then gave him a five-year, $141.25 million contract, making him the highest-paid wide receiver at the time of signing.

Meanwhile, Rodgers became the highest-paid player in the league after agreeing to a three-year, $150 million deal.

However, it’s still uncertain if he will play throughout the entire deal.

In that case, Adams saw this as the perfect time to chase another chapter of his career.

Family Matters To Adams

Aside from making a career decision, Adams moved to Las Vegas to be closer to home.

That way, he could be more involved in raising his kids.

Football-wise, he joins the Raiders family which has a rich history of success.

In the back of his mind, he would like to add to the franchise’s glitzy legacy by continuing his excellence.

He will get a lot of help from Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller, making the Raiders a team to watch in 2022.
