The Chicago Cubs have fans who are excited over the team signing shortstop Dansby Swanson this offseason.
Signing him gives fans a reason to believe the Cubs can become contenders.
While it’s been a short time since he became a member of the Cubs, he’s making the rounds talking with former Cubs players.
One of these players is former pitcher Ryan Dempster.
After leaving baseball, Dempster started working the Off The Mound talk show.
During a segment on his show, he had the Gold Glove shortstop on for an interview.
While the two talked, the young star told an interesting story to Dempster.
His story is how he became addicted to winning after he won a World Series with the Atlanta Braves.

With the passion inside of him to bring a winning team to Chicago, he shows fans they have the right guy on their team.
His goal for the Cubs is to experience the same winning he’s accustomed to during his career.
While the Cubs broke their 108-year World Series drought back in 2016, they can use another championship.
With fans wanting more championships after a long drought, Swanson brings the talent and motivation the team needs to return to a World Series.
But he will need everyone around him to share the passion and drive he has for winning.
If he can motivate the surrounding players, some of whom are already talented players, they can reach new heights.
With Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts signaling this will be a playoff year for the team, Swanson gives them the right player to put this dream together.
