New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is a fairly average passer.
However, what he may lack in passing talent, which is only amplified by the lack of targets on the Giants’ offense, he makes up for in his ability to run with the ball.
Ever since Jones started playing for the Giants in 2019 he has used his rushing talent to provide the Giants with vital yards that occasionally have won them the game.
This year is no different for Jones.
Daniel Jones has already set new career high in rushing yards (522). He's almost 100 yards past previous best. Still 5 games left.
Just as a reference point to how big weapon this has become:
Justin Fields 905
Lamar Jackson 764
Jalen Hurts 609
Josh Allen 581

His Rushing In 2022
This year, Jones has already ran for 522 yards in the 12 games the Giants have played this season.
He has also scored four rushing touchdowns this season, adding to the 11 passing touchdowns he has thrown.
Jones’ running is a clear asset to the Giants, but when he is compared to similar quarterbacks, his talent is truly seen.
The Other Rushers
When we compare Jones’ 522 yards to the other quarterbacks known for rushing the ball, he is fifth on the list.
At the top of the list is Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
These two players are universally known for their rushing ability and are hundreds of yards ahead of their nearest opponents.
Then we have Jalen Hurts, shortly followed by Josh Allen, and then Jones.
Less than 100 yards separate these players.
It is also worth mentioning that Hurts and Allen have highly powerful offenses and offensive lines that allow for those kinds of yards.
Jones does not have this luxury.
Which makes the 522 yards he has even more spectacular.
