46-year-old Daniel Chalmers, Pastor of Love Wins Ministry, was arrested for urinating on a passenger during an early October flight.
Pastor Daniel Chalmers is the founder of his ministry, Love Wins Ministry, in Raleigh and is also on staff at Catch the Fire Raleigh-Durham, according to his bio. The Incident
The Delta Airlines red eye flight originated from Las Vegas with a final destination of Detroit.
Alicia Beverly awoke from her sleep with Chalmers standing over her.
In her confusion, she noticed he was exposed but then felt wet.
It was at that point that she realized he urinated on her.
She told Fox 2 Detroit:
“I jump up and I see his private area out and I screamed, and that woke everybody up. By that time, I actually looked at him and I see him shake himself off, and I’m like, this man just peed on me! I looked and there was a puddle of pee in the seats.”
Off Duty Police Officer Was a Passenger
Before the incident occurred, the police officer noticed Chalmers get up from his seat.
Per the police report, the off duty officer noticed Chalmers walk to the back of the plane at 2:44 a.m. in his socks.
The office then heard the woman scream.
When he approached Chalmers, he quickly admitted his innocence.
The officer asked him what he was innocent of.
Chalmers replied:
“Whatever it is she is accusing me of, I didn’t do it. I’m a pastor, and that is out of my character and I didn’t do it.”
Was Alcohol Involved?
Chalmers told the police he had not been drinking; however, the off duty officer smelled alcohol when he approached Chalmers on the plane.
Later, Chalmers admitted to having drinks and taking medication.
He was cited for simple assault.
His court date is not known.
The Rest Of The Flight Was Uncomfortable
Though Beverly was moved to a different seat, she had no choice but to sit in her wet clothes.
Beverly says after getting off the flight, she still suffers from anxiety over the incident.
“I left work yesterday because I couldn’t stay, but I had to tell them why I needed to leave. It was a lot. My anxiety was really high literally. Since then I have only gotten four hours of sleep.”
Love Wins Ministry
Chalmers runs Love Wins Ministry with his wife Shara Chalmers.
Love Wins Ministry is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Its website positions it as “A Prophetic Generation Hearing the Voice of God.”
The couple also share two children.
Chalmers finally released a very brief statement on October 27.
