Many sports fans held out hope that Tom Brady, the undisputed greatest player to ever play the game of football, would extend his 22-year career for one more season.
That was not to be as Brady decided to retire from the game and made the official announcement this week.
Brady’s popularity extends far beyond the NFL.
He has close friends involved in other sports including UFC President Dana White.
White is admittedly a New England Patriots fan but followed Brady’s career when he landed in Tampa Bay in 2020.
Brady is also a big supporter of UFC and has been spotted at high-profile bouts over the years.
White not only did not want Brady to retire, but he also wanted him to join a different NFL team for 2022.
To be clear, Brady was under contract with the Buccaneers for 2022 so White’s wish was highly unlikely even if Brady stayed in football.
Where Did White Want Brady To Play?
White wanted Brady to land in Las Vegas and play for the Raiders.

This makes sense as a lot of the UFC championship matches occur in Las Vegas.
What’s even more ironic, though White did not know it at the time, is that Brady could have reunited with his longtime Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who just accepted the position as the next Las Vegas Raiders head coach.
Key parts of the New England dynasty would have reemerged in the desert.
What Will Brady Do Now?
This seems to be a question that fans have.
Brady spent a lot of time getting his body and mind ready for football so he will have free time on his hands.
He has promoted his TB12 brand over the years while playing, but he just branched out and introduced the BRADY clothing line.

Brady could enter the world of football broadcasting should he desire to do so.
However, Brady made it clear that he wants to be present for his wife and children so family time will be an utmost priority.
"Our family is my greatest achievement."

Though his Bucs did not repeat as Super Bowl Champions this year, they had a great season.
Now that he is stepping away from the game, we will fully begin to absorb the entirety of his career and the tremendous longevity and success he experienced.
