The NBA world is fully enveloped in a war of words between Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and Patrick Beverley of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It all started on Monday when Beverley absolutely tore into Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns.
Beverley went on national television and said that no one in the league was afraid of Paul and his defensive skills – or lack thereof.
He even went so far as to call him a “cone” instead of a defender, because any player can just move around him with ease.
Lillard wasn’t having any of it and took to Twitter to rip Beverley for his comments.
Cuz nobody guarding this man . https://t.co/MlnKvLvWrh

The onslaught from Lillard continued on Monday afternoon, as Lillard commented on Beverley’s output in the 2022 playoffs.
When one Twitter user showed that Beverley’s postseason stats weren’t too bad, Lillard shot back with, “Cuz nobody guarding this man.”
Things are getting heated.
Brash Beverley
No one was really surprised to hear Beverley make such strong remarks about Paul following the Suns’ shocking defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night.
Beverley is known for talking trash on and off the court.
The reaction from Lillard was a bit surprising, though.
He doesn’t often comment on other players on his social media.
But obviously, something about Beverley’s words against Paul got him fired up.
Then again, Lillard’s anger might be because of other actions from Beverley.
Throughout his career, the Timberwolves player has ruffled quite a few feathers and upset quite a few players in the process.
Maybe Lillard is just tired of Beverley’s attitude and the comment about Paul was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
It certainly makes one wonder what will happen when these two meet on the court next season.
