Just weeks before the new NBA season starts, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is feeling introspective and is thinking of his future.
The player has been a part of the Blazers since he first entered the league.
Since then, he has become one of the best point guards in the NBA.
But as great as he is, his team has struggled a lot, never reaching the Finals and only making the Western Conference Finals once.
Damian Lillard will be a frontrunner for the MVP award this year if the Blazers grind out a top five seed somehow. Do not count them out, they have a nice core…and Dame is 28 a night when healthy. pic.twitter.com/eGNPJHpuLc

This has led many people to say that Lillard is too good for Portland and should try to win a ring with a different team.
Speaking to the press during the team’s media day, Lillard was talking about how he imagined the end of his career.
He said he wants to look back and know that he “accomplished everything I want to accomplish.”
His statement is a bit ambiguous and maybe a tad confusing too.
Yet, one thing is obvious: Lillard wants to win with Portland.
Lillard Not Leaving
There is no doubt that if Lillard wished to leave Portland then he would find a new home in a heartbeat.
Practically every team in the league would jump at the chance of getting him.
But he has a strong sense of loyalty and he will not leave the Blazers until it becomes obvious that he cannot win with them.
It’s unlikely that the Blazers will achieve dominance in the West in the upcoming season.
Aside from Lillard, the team still lacks a reliable, strong core as it had only a few years ago.
Still, don’t expect Lillard to cut and run just yet.
