Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers has been sidelined yet again because of injury but it sounds like he’s on the road to recovery.
The struggling team has been missing Lillard, who was averaging 24 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.3 assists so far in the season.
But an abdominal injury proved to be too much and required surgery, possibly ending Lillard’s season.
Now comes word that things are going well – although Portland’s fans shouldn’t expect to see Lillard back on the floor soon.

According to the Trail Blazers, Lillard has progressed through the first phases of rehabilitation from abdominal surgery with no setbacks.
The team said that Lillard will now begin the reconditioning phase of his rehab and will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks.
End Of The Road?
Unsurprisingly, the Blazers have been in a rough patch without Lillard.
The loss of their star player also occurred right around the time they also lost center Jusuf Nurkic for at least four weeks because of a left foot injury.
Meanwhile, the team traded away one of its main stars, CJ McCollum.
McCollum was sent packing to the New Orleans Pelicans, breaking up one of the most beloved duos in the entire NBA.
Some people feel that Lillard should remain on the sidelines for the rest of the season even if he completes his rehab.
They don’t want Lillard to over-exert himself for a season that is likely lost anyway.
The team is currently the 11th seed in the West with a record of 25-36.
There are many who think the team should just give up on this season, get healthy again, and attempt to have a special offseason via trades and draft picks.
