The first month of the NBA in 2023 is just about in the record books and it had a lot of excitement, disappointment, and a few surprises too.
Now that February is right around the corner, things are really starting to heat up.
If you can believe it, the playoffs are now just a few months away.
That’s why it’s important to see who has been leading the league in various ways over the last 30 days.
January NBA leaders:
PTS — Damian Lillard (517)
REB — Julius Randle (193)
AST — James Harden (141)
STL — Jalen Williams (28)
BLK — Jaren Jackson Jr. (48)
FGM — Damian Lillard (157)
3PM — Damian Lillard (59)
FG% — Mason Plumlee (76.4%)

January’s best of the best has some of the biggest names in the league.
For example, Jaren Jackson Jr. had the most blocks in the league with 48, while James Harden earned the most assists (141) and Julius Randle made the Knicks proud with his 193 rebounds.
But it was Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers who had the biggest impact on the NBA.
Not only did he lead the league in points scored with 517, but he also had the most made field goals (157) and the most three-pointers too (59).
January really was a great month for Lillard.
He has averaged 34.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 7.6 assists a game on a 49.7% field goal percentage.
As for his Blazers, they are still having a tough time rising above the rest of the competition in the West.
The team is currently 12th with a 24-26 record, just ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers and tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But Lillard has been playing some lights-out basketball even as his team has struggled.
This isn’t the first time we have seen Lillard soar while his team has scrapped by.
However, there is hope among fans that perhaps the team can get it together over the next few months, especially with Lillard producing MVP-caliber numbers.
