As Monday’s game was postponed, fans, players, and coaches flocked to the hospital where Hamlin was being treated and showed support of all kinds.
Damar Hamlin’s foundation that he created in college, The Chasing M’s Foundation Community Toy Drive, saw a massive uptick in donations.
As of Thursday morning, over $7 million has been donated to Hamlin’s charity as fans and players from everywhere have contributed to the cause to show their support.
The past 72 hours were gut-wrenching for so many people. Everyone were so worried about Damar Hamlin's health, and the news that he opened his eyes and is neurologically intact is truly amazing.

It has been a rough 72 hours for everybody, and the NFL is still finding a way to figure out how to tweak the schedule with the playoffs right around the corner.
Nonetheless, almost 225,000 people have donated to the cause. The initial goal was $2,500 for the toy drive, but the cause was updated since the situation:
“This fundraiser was initially established to support a toy drive for Damar’s community, sponsored by the Chasing M’s Foundation. However, it has received renewed support in light of Damar’s current battle and we can’t thank all of you enough. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us.”
Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts donated $25,003, Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots donated $18,003, and Matthew Stafford donated $12,000.
Many NFL teams and star players — including Russell Wilson and Rams head coach Sean Mcvay — made donations to Hamlin’s charity, and we could see it continue to grow as time goes on.
Amid such a difficult and unfortunate situation, it has been heartwarming to see so many people donate to Hamlin’s cause.
