If you don’t believe in second chances, you might not have the right approach in life: sometimes, you might get as many as three chances!
Left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel has already logged innings with two different MLB teams this season.
He is already with his third organization, the Texas Rangers, after failed stints with the Chicago White Sox and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
With the former, he had a 7.88 ERA in 32 innings, and was designated for assignment.
He latched on with the D-Backs, but wasn’t much better: in 18.2 frames, he had a ghastly 9.64 ERA.
He was also released, and signed with the Rangers in July.
After pitching 23.1 innings for the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate, he is now ready to start for them.
Keuchel Will Pitch For His Third Team This Season
He will do so on Saturday.
“Roster move for Friday: – LHP Cole Ragans placed on 15-day Injured List, retroactive to Aug. 23, with a left calf strain. LHP Dallas Keuchel is on the taxi squad today and scheduled to start on Saturday vs. Detroit,” the Rangers informed via Twitter.

Keuchel was actually very good for the Rangers’ Triple-A team in his limited action, posting a solid 2.31 ERA for them, in four starts.
However, he has shown time and time again this year that there might not be much left in his arm.
The former Cy Young award winner, however, could be revitalized by returning to the state in which he was happy and successful: he had an impressive stint with the Houston Astros between 2014 and 2018.
It’s hard to see him return to his best form at 34 years old and with so many failures in 2022, but never say never.
The Rangers are giving him yet another chance.
Will he take advantage of it?
