The offseason is rolling along again, with free agents now flocking to their new teams or back to their old ones.
The lockout put free agency on hold, but now that it’s back, an unprecedented wave of signings is upon us.
One team that has been very aggressive this offseason is the Chicago Cubs, who have already signed Marcus Stroman and Seiya Suzuki, and picked up Wade Miley after he was let go by the Cincinnati Reds.
The Cubs are ready to spend even more, it seems, as reports have indicated that they are checking in on former Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke.

The Cubs Could Have A Scary Rotation
Stroman and Miley are already good pickups for the rotation, but Greinke would give them an elite staff.
Imagine having him, Stroman, Miley, and Kyle Hendricks in the same rotation.
This could put them in the mix for an NL Central division title and could help them compete with the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers for division supremacy.
The Cubs obviously did a little tear down last year at the trade deadline, trading away their big three of Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, and Javier Baez.
This was done because all three of them were impending free agents.
But the Cubs certainly have some money to spend and putting Greinke in their rotation would make them a little more than just a dark horse contender.
They’ll still have stiff competition, but that rotation would be scary if Greinke is added to it.
There’s still time left in the offseason to get something done, and we will see what Chicago decides to do.
If they want to contend, signing Greinke makes perfect sense.
