The Chicago Cubs are coming off a 74-win season in which they missed the postseason for the second consecutive year.
However, they have made some key moves this winter in an attempt to strengthen their ballclub for 2023.
They added Dansby Swanson, Trey Mancini, Jameson Taillon, and Cody Bellinger in free agency and now look prepared to take another step this season.
These moves have Cubs fans and analysts alike excited for the upcoming season.
In fact, some are expecting that this team could potentially challenge the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers.
Cubs analyst Taylor McGregor shared her expectations for the 2023 season and made a rather bold prediction.

While the National League Central division looks to be the Cardinals’ division for the taking, the Cubs have made some key moves to bridge the gap.
Clearly, McGregor thinks that these moves could help the Cubs in a big way this season as they look to fight their way back into the conversation.
The team last reached the postseason in 2020, winning the NL Central but losing in the first round to the Miami Marlins.
The team has finished below .500 in two consecutive seasons.
However, the Cubs are a team that should not be overlooked.
St. Louis and Milwaukee were both relatively quiet this winter.
The Cubs did lose Willson Contreras to the Cardinals, but their recent activity seems to have them pointed towards contention this year.
The NL Central could be an exciting division this year, with the Cubs potentially playing meaningful games in September as McGregor predicted.
