The Philadelphia Phillies have been active this offseason after falling just short in the World Series against the Houston Astros.
Their biggest move was signing shortstop Trea Turner to an 11-year, $300 million contract, but they’ve been diligently adding pieces to their pitching staff as well.
One of those pieces is veteran reliever Craig Kimbrel, who was teammates with Turner on the Los Angeles Dodgers this past season.
The right-hander saved 22 games as a Dodger and posted an ERA of 3.75 in 63 appearances.
But Citizens Bank Park is not new territory for the right-hander, thanks to his days with the Atlanta Braves.
In fact, in 21 career appearances, Kimbrel has yet to allow an earned run in Philadelphia.

This bodes well for both Kimbrel and the Phillies.
Perhaps this could be an opportunity for the veteran right-hander to bounce back and re-establish himself as one of baseball’s most dominant relievers.
The 34-year-old hasn’t quite been the same since the Chicago Cubs sent him to the Chicago White Sox at the trade deadline in 2021.
The right-hander posted a 5.09 mark in 24 appearances with the South Siders.
But with the Phillies, Kimbrel could potentially bounce back and use Citizens Bank Park to his advantage.
Again, Kimbrel has not allowed in earned run at Citizens Bank Park over 21 career appearances since his MLB debut in 2010.
The Phillies have also added left-handers Matt Strahm and Gregory Soto to bolster their bullpen, and look prepared to make a return trip to the World Series in 2023 with a completely revamped roster and bullpen.
