Dallas Cowboys offensive guard Zack Martin doesn’t get enough credit for his excellence.
The former Notre Dame standout helps create gaps for Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard to exploit.
Likewise, he provides solid protection for quarterback Dak Prescott.
He has been the offensive lineman the Cowboys hoped for when they chose him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Eight seasons into his career, Martin has five First-Team All-Pro, two Second-Team All-Pro, and seven Pro Bowl selections.
Martin has started in all the NFL games he played and missed only nine games.
Without question, Martin is one of the best at his position.
However, The Athletic’s Jon Machota shared a fact that will elevate Martin’s legend.
According to the Cowboys, right guard Zack Martin has more Pro Bowl selections (7) than he has holding penalties (5) in his eight-year career, and he’s the only active NFL offensive lineman with fewer holding calls than Pro Bowl selections

Machota tweeted, “According to the Cowboys, right guard Zack Martin has more Pro Bowl selections (7) than he has holding penalties (5) in his eight-year career, and he’s the only active NFL offensive lineman with fewer holding calls than Pro Bowl selections.”
That statistic shows that his discipline has never wavered since day one.
He has done a magnificent job without committing several infractions.
Martin might not get the spotlight, but he is vital to the success Dallas has enjoyed over the years.
Concerns On The Cowboys’ Offensive Line
Dallas will have no problems with Martin because he will be a consistent contributor.
However, they might encounter problems in other spots on their offensive line.
Tyron Smith is on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, and their reserves at left tackle are inexperienced.
With La’el Collins moving to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cowboys will be banking on rookie Tyler Smith as starting left tackle.
One of his backups, Matt Waletzko, is also a rookie, while Josh Ball is in his second year.
The depth chart for blocking Prescott’s blind side might not be up to the task.
