Cowboys And Lions Share An Unfortunate NFL Mark

The NFL Draft and its hard salary cap make it possible for any team to compete each season.

Teams that struggled the previous year have the chance to select the better prospects.

If they hit on all their picks, the team can turn from cellar-dweller to contender.

Likewise, the hard cap means that teams should be under or within the limit specified by the league.

Rebuilding teams can sign key players if their previous squad released them due to cap implications.

These two factors should help every franchise change its fate for the better.

But even if they make the playoffs, some teams find it hard to attain success after the regular season.

The NFL on CBS Twitter account pointed out two NFL teams with a playoff win percentage below .250 over the last 25 NFL seasons.

The Detroit Lions haven’t won a playoff game in five tries.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys has won only three of their last 13 postseason games.

It’s depressing that two teams with a glorious past have failed in recent years.

The Lions won four NFL Championships, the last one came in 1957.

Unfortunately, their last playoff win was in 1991 when they defeated the Cowboys in the Divisional Round.

Since 1997, they’ve dropped all their postseason games despite having the likes of Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, and Matthew Stafford.

Cowboys Suffer Another Collapse

Last season, Dallas had high hopes after finishing with a 12-5 mark.

However, the San Francisco 49ers defeated them in their Wild Card encounter, 23-17.

Worst yet, the Cowboys lost wide receivers Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson.

With both of them gone, quarterback Dak Prescott will have a tough time in the passing game.

The Philadelphia Eagles have also improved, making them favorites to win the NFC East in 2022.
