The Arizona Diamondbacks might be the most impressive team in baseball this year.
They might not have as good of a record as the Tampa Bay Rays or Atlanta Braves but no one expected them to be this good.
Arizona sits in first place in the NL West with a record of 44-29.
What was once thought of as a fluke is quite the opposite.
The D-Backs are a good team and have expectations of playing in the playoffs.
One player that has played well above expectations is rookie outfielder Corbin Carroll.
In his first full MLB season, he has proven to be one of the best players in the league.
He is even getting NL MVP consideration.
According to StatMuse, Carroll is one of only three players with 15+ home runs and 10+ stolen bases this year.

Carroll joins this list with the two MVP favorites, Shohei Ohtani and Ronald Acuna Jr.
With the way the Diamondbacks are playing, Carroll must be in the MVP discussion.
The last rookie to win an MVP award was Ichiro Suzuki back in 2001.
Carroll was once the number-one prospect in baseball, so seeing him play at an elite level is not a surprise.
He is a legitimate five-tool player and is only 22 years old.
Seeing a 30/30 season from Carroll is well within possibility.
The D-Backs have shown no signs of slowing down.
They are looking to win the NL West for the first time since 2011.
With the way Carroll plays, he will have plenty of recognition coming his way.
