Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp had a season to remember.
He won the Triple Crown during the regular season when he led the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), and touchdowns (16).
The former Eastern Washington standout was a vital part of the Rams’ campaign as he separated himself from the rest of the league.
His exceptional performances earned him his first Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro selection.
Kupp also succeeded Derrick Henry as Offensive Player of the Year.
He kept on performing well during the playoffs, going for over 100 receiving yards in both the Divisional Weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and in the NFC Championship Game versus the San Francisco 49ers.
Then, he saved the best for last by winning Super Bowl MVP after finishing with two touchdowns, including the game-winning reception against Eli Apple.
But while he might find it difficult to contain his accolades into his trophy case, the 28-year-old wide receiver added one more award to his collection.
Kupp Should Get Slimed
Nickelodeon named Kupp their NVP or Nickelodeon Valuable Player, as shown in this tweet from the television network.
to the man who catches everything! our #SuperBowl NVP is @CooperKupp 🏆 congrats to Cooper and the LA @RamsNFL on winning this year's #SuperBowl! pic.twitter.com/j4HfT4mYvZ
— Nickelodeon (@Nickelodeon) February 17, 2022
The caption reads, “To the man who catches everything! Our #SuperBowl NVP is @cooperkupp. Congrats to Cooper and the @LARams on winning this year’s #SuperBowl!”
That said, there should be a video of him getting slimed just like the weekly NVPs they chose throughout the season.
The television network became a serious player in the NFL coverage when they started to broadcast a playoff game in 2020.
That year, the New Orleans Saints defeated the Chicago Bears in a game that featured slime cannons, animation featuring the network’s programs, and commentary from their stars.
In 2021, it was the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers who played in the so-called “Nickelodeon Game.”
It’s a tradition that will likely continue in partnership with CBS because NFL on Nickelodeon is getting positive reviews and ratings.
