Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is picking up where he left off last season.
The reigning Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl LVI Most Valuable Player already has 402 receiving yards through four games.
That number puts him in fourth place, behind Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs, and A.J. Brown.
However, he is the king of receptions with 42, 11 more than Hill and Diggs.
But Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov compared Kupp’s number with another surprising total from an NFL quarterback.
A ‘wow’ stat: There’s a WR in the NFL who has more receptions through four games than a starting QB has completions.
• Cooper Kupp receptions: 42
• Justin Fields completions: 34Bonkers to have that going into Week 5 of a season.

Meirov tweeted, “A ‘wow’ stat: There’s a WR in the NFL who has more receptions through four games than a starting QB has completions…Bonkers to have that going into Week 5 of a season.”
He then mentioned that Kupp’s 42 receptions are more than Justin Fields’ 34 completions.
By doing the math, Fields averages 8.5 completions per game, while Kupp has 10.5 catches.
The Eastern Washington alumnus also has three touchdowns and four catches of 20 yards or more.
Kupp is also fourth in yards after the catch with 178.
Despite that wild comparison, both the Rams and the Bears have identical 2-2 records through Week 4.
Kupp Needs More Help On Offense
His numbers are more impressive when considering the fact that the other team knows where the ball is going.
Tyler Higbee and Ben Skowronek have contributed in their own ways, but their production is still not enough.
Likewise, Allen Robinson II has struggled with only 95 yards.
The Rams’ lack of offensive production translates to them being outscored in the fourth quarter, 44-3.
Therefore, the team hopes for Robinson to get out of his slump and play like a wideout that is worth $46.5 million.
Meanwhile, the Rams wish to have Van Jefferson and Odell Beckham Jr. back, given their struggles in moving the ball through the air.
